The mechanism is intended for moving objects along a closed track in steps and rotating them over part of this track to subject them to centrifugal action. Holders (16) for the objects are rotatably carried by vertical shafts (9) arranged in successive bearing housings (3,3') which are intercoupled via pivots (3;32) to form an endless chain driven in steps (3' is shown 90 deg. offset from actual position). Each shaft carries a disc (8) and a number of inductive linear motor stators (10) are arranged below the discs with spacing equal to that of the chain links to drive the holders during each stop of the chain.
