CRT in-line electron gun - uses apertured grids between beam generator and screen to produce convergence and prevent coma distortion

The tube has a target electrode and an electron gun with a first electrode spaced along a central gun axis from the target electrode to produce and direct a number of electron beams towards the target electrode along paths which are initially parallel to the gun axis. At least one of the beam paths is spaced from the axis. A second electrode is spaced along the paths between the first electrode and the target electrode to form a different signal electric field lens positioned in the path of each beam for focusing the beams near the target electrode. The second electrode forms the lens in the one beam path asymmetrically to it to bend that beam towards the gun axis.
