The tunnel type dish-washing machine includes a compressor-condenser-evaporator heat transfer circuit obtg. sensitive control of washing and rinsing water temperature. Heat is abstracted from steam and air emanating from the rinsing and washing zones and used to supplement compressor heat. Thermostats control the heat flow from the evaporators and thereby control the temperatures. The heating of rinsing and washing water is effected by a heater pump which acts in conjunction with evaporators. Two evaporators are deployed, mounted in parallel, and transversed by fan-fed air and hot water vapour. An electro-valve is provided at the inlet to one of the evaporators, and two thermo-stats are incorporated to control the max. and min. temperatures.
