FRICTION CASTING BOLSTER POCKET WEARPLATE HAVING A PLURALITY OF SIDESABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSUREA railroad car truck bolster has a plurality of pocketseach of which will position a friction wedge for use in dampingmotion between the bolster and the side frame. Each pocket hasa slanted rear wall and adjoining side walls perpendicular thereto,the side walls being generally perpendicular to the longitudinalaxis of the bolster. One of the side walls is designated theinboard side wall and the other is designated the outboard sidewall. The present invention is specifically concerned with awear plate which is positioned within the friction wedge pocketand has a main portion formed and adapted to substantially con-form to the pocket slanted wall and at least one wall portionintegral therewith and formed and adapted to substantially con-form to the pocket outboard side wall, an area subject to substan-tially greater wear than the inboard pocket side wall. Further,there are means on the wear plate for cooperative attachmentof the wear plate to the pocket.
