ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE:There is provided an industrial microwave furnacecomprising a metal casing subdivided into three adjacentcompartments by partitions having each an opening in anupper part thereof. The two outer compartments each includea number of microwave generators and are each pressurizedby a flow of cool air from an associated air fan. The micro-wave generators are disposed opposite the openings in thepartitions such that warm air resulting from cooling ofthe microwave generators by the flow of cool air is directedthrough the openings into the middle compartment whichforms a microwave applicator section. The industrial micro-wave furnace further comprises a plurality of waveguidesarranged on the walls of the casing and a plurality ofradiators for coupling the microwave energy from the micro-wave generators in the waveguides and for coupling the micro-wave energy from the waveguides into the middle applicatorcompartment. The radiators are evenly distributed alongthe waveguides so as to create a constant electric fieldover the cross-section of the middle applicator compartment, thereby to result in a constant heating over the cross-section of the middle applicator compartment and in amaximum microwave energy coupled into the middle applicatorcompartment.
