A process for the preparation of organic polyisocyanates with at least partially blocked isocyanate groups by at least partially blocking the isocyanate groups of organic polyisocyanates by means of the cyclic dicarbonyl compounds having the structural unit IMAGE, optionally with simultaneous use of the blocking agents known from polyurethane chemistry, the thus obtainable at least partially blocked polyisocyanates and their use for the production of polyurethanes or of aqueous polyisocyanate solutions or dispersions.
