A washing machine (1) comprising an automatic water distributor with a movable jet for feeding washing-agent compartments (3), which distributor is controlled by a mechanical connection arranged between the distributor and a rotary cam (6) which is rigidly connected to the shaft of the motor of an electro-mechanical programmer, which mechanical connection has a rigid end constituting a follower which is loaded by elastic means and continuously bears on the profile of the cam (6), the cam profile being a closed curve whose radius varies locally to form zones separated by downward transitions and at least one upward transition, the various downward transitions moving the follower to obtain the movement of the mechanical connection, characterized in that the upward transition (8) is an edge against which the follower (5) abuts at the end of the rotation of the cam, the follower (5) being manually reset onto the upper level of the cam, which corresponds to the beginning of a washing cycle, by means of the control knob of the programmer.
