A bracket is mounted in a laboratory on teeth which are to to be orthodontically treated. A positive model with removable teeth is prepared from a negative model of the jaw to be treated. Separate teeth are extracted from this positive model and inserted in the negative model. The jaw region is filled with wax to form a complete positive model. The fixed model teeth of the positive model are then brought into the ideal optimum position while the was is in a sufficiently plastic state. The bracket feet are inserted in this ideal position so that all the bracket slits run in three dimensions in parallel to the ideal line of teeth set curvature.
