An improved method of preparing a metal-containing catalyst, such as Pd ZSM-5/Al2O3, which comprises adding a Group VIIIA metal-containing solution to a dried zeolite component with mixing, then adding a binder (e.g. Al2O3) and water in amount sufficient to produce an extrudable composite mass, then extruding, drying and calcining the resultant composite catalyst.
