Process for producing hollow silicone mouldings and a silicone moulding produced thereby

A process for producing hollow silicone mouldings is characterised in that, in at least one first casting operation, at least viscous silicone is poured into a flat negative mould which is open at the top and has a hollow space base corresponding to one half of the surface of the moulding, in that mould cores, in particular made of Styropor (expanded polystyrene), are arranged on the poured-in hot silicone layer in a way corresponding to the hollow space or to the hollow spaces to be formed of the moulding and casting-resistant pipe connections laid from the hollow spaces transversely to outside the negative mould are arranged and subsequently, in at least one second casting operation, the negative mould is completely filled with at least viscous silicone, whereupon, after joining of the first and second cast silicone layers and after releasing the cooled moulding from the negative mould, a solvent, in particular acetone, is conducted through the laid pipe connections to the mould cores in order to dissolve them and rinse them out of the interior of the moulding to form a hollow space. A silicone moulding produced according to this process is suitable in particular as a so-called temperature-control cushion through which temperature-controlled (heated or cooled) water can be passed at constant temperature.
