The shoe-heel for a handicapped person, consists of a main body (4) and a tread (5) which interlock. The main body of the shoe has a lengthwise groove (7), dovetailed in shape, which matches a lengthwise rib (6) on the tread. A transverse channel (8,9) extends across the whole of the heel between the main body and the tread. A movable tube (10) fits into the duct (8,9) and has a bar (11) extending through it on the two ends of which two splints (12) are fixed.
