The treatment of slag on the steelmaking in view of their use in a cement plant

Process for treatment of steelworks slag with a view to its use in cement manufacture. The process consists in adding at least one compound capable of forming alumina to the liquid slag, in introducing the quantity of heat necessary to dissolve the said compound in the slag and in subjecting the slag to stirring. The compound capable of forming alumina is bauxite or aluminium. The slag thus treated can be employed as hydraulic binder, especially for the manufacture of cement. IMAGE
