The system comprises a video reader 3 scanning a film and delivering video signals SR, SG, SB, a display device 15, calculating and control means 1 controlling the reader on the basis of position and velocity parameters provided by output interface circuits 20 from a simulator. The addresses of the views on the film are stored in a PROM 5 in correspondence with the positions from which the views were taken. At any instant, a view to be used is selected as a function of the position parameters, and the zone 19 to be displayed from said view is selected as a function of the velocity parameters, thereby enabling the field of observation to be displayed which a pilot would see in reality from an aircraft moving along a trajectory in a determined space.
