PURPOSE:Methyl methacrylate polymer, obtained by anionic polymerization under specific conditions using a specified Grignard reagent, capable of exhibiting good monodispersity of molecular weight distribution, and having high degree of isotacticity and improved stereoregularity. CONSTITUTION:Methyl methacrylate polymer having monodisperse molecular weight distribution, preferably 1.01-2.00 ratio (Mw/Mn) of the weight-average to the number-average molecular weight and high degree of isotacticity and improved stereoregularity, and obtained by anionic polymerization at -100-+50 deg.C using a Grignard reagent expressed by the formula (R1, R2 and R3 are 1-10C hydrocarbon group) as a polymerization initiator. Preferably, the isotacticity is =95% expressed in terms of triad.
