PURPOSE:To enable propellant powder to be charged without generation of crack, by feeding pressure fluid in a closed motor chamber when propellant slurry is charged into the motor chamber for hardening the propellant powder slurry, and by discharging the pressure fluid after the slurry is hardened. CONSTITUTION:Upon charging, a bottom plate 7 to which a columnar core 8 for forming an inner hole is planted in the center part thereof, is set to close one end of a motor chamber 1 having a motor cell 2 bonded, at the internal surface thereof, with a lining 3, while a head cover 12 is set through an extension 9 to close the other end of the motor chamber 1. Such a device is disposed in a constant temperature oven, then is charged with propellant slurry 4 through a charge port 7 in a conventional way, and thereafter, a lid 5 is attached to close the charge port 7. Then, the whole device is vertically set, and high pressure nitrogen gas is fed into the chamber 1 through a connector 13 for enlarging the diameter of the chamber 1. With this method, the slurry 4 is pressed and hardened, and then the nitrogen gas is discharged after slow cooling. Finally, members 6, 8, 9, etc. are removed.
