ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSUREA lawn mower is illustrated as including acarburetor having a float bowl adapted to contain avent assembly for selectively venting the air space ofthe carburetor float bowl to the atmosphere when theinternal combustion engine of the lawn mower is runningand for precluding evaporation of fuel from the airspace when the engine is not running. The lawn mowerfuel tank also includes a vent assembly for selectivelyventing the fuel tank to the atmosphere when theinternal combustion engine is running and forprecluding evaporation of fuel from the fuel tank intothe atmosphere when the engine is not running. Eachvent assembly includes a valve member resting on avalve seat and supported for movement in response tovibration of the engine and in such a manner that thevalve member will return to its position on the valveseat when the engine is shut off.
