A method for single bath dyeing of cellulosic textiles with ice colours, without an intermediate rinsing stage between the impregnation and development, comprises treating the material with an aq. bath contg. coupling component and an alkali, and, adding to the bath after the ptake of the coupling component onto the fibre, a soln. of a diazonium salt and opt. a quantity of alkali fixing agents to give a pH of 9-12. No excess unabsorbed coupling component needs to be eliminated. The dyeing time is considerably reduced, and the pH range used allows the alkali salt and free acid forms of the coupling component to mixt. close to equilibrium which gives perfectly even dyeing of high intensity and good fastness, partic. to rubbing and washing. The alkali fixing agent is pref added to the bath before the diazo soln. Pref. the pH range created is 9.5-10.5.
