The three-into-two way hydraulically controlled pilot valve comprises two 2/2 way valves in line. These are arranged so that their plugs (3, 3') are actuated by a closing solenoid (7) in opposition to a spring (1). The two actuating portions (5, 6) are joined together by a rod (4) so that one plug is shut while the other is open and vice versa, and the two valves are connected together hydraulically. The rod can be designed so as to give complete pressure equalisation in both positions.
