For securing the hanging rock in mining, the rock is injection-filled with initially liquid synthetic resin compositions which then, by foaming, cause the rock sections separated from one another by cracks and crevices to adhere together. A closure plug (1) serves for sealing and is anchored in the depth of a pre-drilled bore and tensioned so as to be mechanically sealing. The lance (40) serving to feed the injection medium and with which the closure plug is inserted into the bore (41) serves as an auxiliary and is fastened in a sealing manner at a predetermined point.
