The testing device (10) has a monitoring station which can be fed successively, by means of a conveyor (16), with workpieces (14) which are sorted in a correctly positioned fashion. The monitoring station is provided with a housing (24) with a guide slot (26), which opens into a rejection shaft (28), for the workpieces. The rejection shaft (28) can be blocked against the passage of workpieces by means of a bolt, and, in the housing (24), a calliper gauge (30) for workpieces which are located in front of the rejection shaft (28) in the guide slot (26) is provided. In the area which adjoins the bolt, an ejection device for rejected workpieces is arranged in the rejection shaft (28).
