On the barometer having a digital display, in order to display or to make visible at any time the respectively just occurring air-pressure change in addition to the instantaneous air pressure, an electronic measurement memory is provided in a control electronics device (1), which memory is driven by a mechanical or electronic reversing switch (3). The reversing switch (3) always switches when the air pressure starts to fall after a previous rise or starts to rise after a previous fall, so that a previously stored measurement in the measurement store is deleted and the instantaneous measurement is stored as the new pressure-change reversal value and, at the same time, is displayed in a separate, digital display device (5). The observer thus has the capability to determine at any time whether the instantaneous air pressure value is above or below the display pressure-change value, that is to say whether the air pressure is rising or falling.
