The invention relates to a thickness measuring device for elongated, extruded plastic objects, such as tubes, films or the like. The measuring device consists of a multiplicity of permanent magnets (2), which are arranged distributed on one side of the object to be measured and are embedded, for example, in the circumferential surface of the extruder mandrel (1), and a receiver head (4) which is arranged on the other side of the object and is moved over the permanent magnets (2) while being supported on the object. Depending on the magnetic field, which is more or less strongly attenuated in accordance with the thickness of the object (3), the receiver head (4) delivers spatially referred measured values of thickness to an evaluation device.
