A plug is described for the connection of a flexible screened connecting cord to a screened connecting socket, which plug is constructed from two housing half-shells (which form a plug attachment) and can be inserted by means of its plug attachment into a corresponding insertion opening in the connecting socket. Screening contact plates are inserted into the housing half-shells, in each case on the inner walls, which screening contact plates both rest by means of contact tongues on the screening jacket of the connecting cord and are passed through openings and housing half-shells, and rest on the outer surface of the plug attachment. This ensures a perfect screened connection, for example of a terminal of a data transmission system.
