In this suction sweeper comprising at least one lateral brush, a brush support, which connects the brush to the chassis and which is movable between a first limit position in which the brush is retracted under the chassis and a second limit position in which the brush projects laterally outside the chassis, and an actuating means mounted between the chassis and the brush support for displacing the latter between its two limit positions, provision is made for a position-detector device 19 which is associated with the brush support or with its actuating means and which supplies a signal representing the detected position of the said brush support, and an indicator device 21 which is arranged in the driving station of the suction sweeper and which is connected to the position-detector device 19 so as to supply an indication relating to the detected position of the brush support.
