New mesomorphic compounds. The new compounds are mesomorphic 4-(n-pentyl)phenyl esters of 4'-(trans-4"-(n-alkyl)cyclohex-2-enoyloxy)benzoic acids of general formula: IMAGE in which R = C2H5 or n-C3H7. The compounds indicated can be used as constituents of mesomorphic compositions for electrooptical displaying devices (electronic watches, microcalculators, digital displays and the like).
