A single use disposable filter unit is provided comprised of only two parts joined together, and with those parts configured to support the filter membrane without any additional parts. In addition, the arrangement herein provides for the joining of the two parts of the unit together simultaneously with the sealed annular seating of the periphery of the filter membrane with the filter unit body. Moreover, a decanting spout is incorporated into the unit without the need for a separate air vent.
