PURPOSE:To prepare granules for Sake(liquor) by using an alginate comprising small granules of calcium alginate material having inner pores charged with Sake or fresh water. CONSTITUTION:About 0.5-1wt% calcium salt and about 0.1-1wt% xanthan gum are added to saccharide solution of sucrose, glucose, etc., and if necessary, a fat-soluble dyestuff is added to the solution, to prepare a core solution having =1, preferably about 1.05 specific gravity, which is added dropwise to an aqueous solution of an alginate, to form small granules. They are washed with fresh water as quickly as possible, and refined with water so that the core solution in the inner pores of the small granules is replaced with fresh water. If necessary, the small granules are immersed in Sake, and the fresh water is replaced with it, to give granules for Sake comprising the small granules having the inner pores charged with Sake or the fresh water. A proper amount of the granules are soaked in the same or different Sake, to give an alcoholic drink.
