SLUDGE DISCHARGING DEVICE IN GAS SCRUBBER FOR WET SMOKE WASHING APPARATUS

PURPOSE:To prevent clogging of ejection nozzle for spray water of a gas scrubber in a wet process smoke washing apparatus by discharging used waste liquid with a pump and separating and recovering sludge by providing a cyclone. CONSTITUTION:Waste gas is introduced from an inlet 14 into a scrubber 1, flows upward through the scrubber and is discharged from an outlet 15 for the waste gas. In this stage, circulating liquid is ejected from a nozzle of an ejection pipe 2 for spray water and the dust in the waste gas is removed by washing. The waste liquid accumulates in the bottom of the scrubber. When the concn. of dust exceeds a specified value, a damper 6 is opened and the dust in the pipe is flowed out. A waste liquid pump 7 is driven simultaneously with the start of a circulating liquid pump 3 to feed the waste liquid to the cyclone 8. The sludge is separated and removed and the water is returned through a passage 9 to the bottom of the scrubber.
