PURPOSE:To eliminate the loss of discoloring effect of thermally reversible discoloring ink with high bonding strength maintained by coating an ultraviolet ray curing resin which does not contain a silane coupling but contains the discoloring ink on the surface of a glass or a porcelain as a substrate. CONSTITUTION:A substrate 2 of ultraviolet ray curing resin which contains a silane coupler is coated on the surface of a workpiece such as a glass or a porcelain, and cured. Then, a mixture 3 of thermally reversible discoloring ink which does not contain the coupler and the resin is superposed on the curing resin, cured, and the ink is rigidly coated on the surface of the workpiece such as the glass or the porcelain. This method can rigidly bond the prescribedpattern without loss of the discoloring effect of the ink contained in a capsule on the surface of the glass or the porcelain.
