An instrument for measuring the level of liquid , particularly fuel in a motor-cycle fuel tank comprising a float encased inside the tank, which float is moved by the buoyant force of the liquid and is coupled with an electrical detection system connected by means of a rod which is carried with a rotary sliding movement in a guide element featuring at least one electrically conductive path, characterised in that an auxiliary blind flange (6) along with a seal constitute a tight connection with a through-hole (8) in the wall (3) of the tank (1), in which, on its first surface from the interior, it has a detection system (10) constituting a set of connector means (11, 12, 13), whose tips are led out through the blind flange (6) and connected with second surface of the tank (1).IMAGE
