Process comprises extn. and concn. of tannin from the sap of oil plants, namely carpobrotus edulus (Lin.) L.bolus, which grows wild in various parts of the world is easily propogated and requires little care. The sap is extd. by pressing, centrifuging and/or filtering, and concentrated to meet local needs or standards imposed by imports markets. The tannic substances can be concentrated by ion exchange or macro-reticular resins, alone or in combination with traditional methods.
