Abstract of the DisclosureElectron Optics of the Electron Beam GeneratingSystem of a Color Picture TubeBy giving special shapes to the shielding parts inthe electrodes of an electron beam generating systemfor the use with color picture tubes, there is obtainedan improvement in the electron optics. In this way thereis reduced in particular the twist error and a commonsharpness or sharp focus point is obtained. At the sametime the structure of the electron beam generatingsystem is simplified by reducing the number of componentparts. Instead of each time three rings there are in-serted each time one or two parts in the "grid 4" and/orthe "grid 3". If, in addition thereto, these parts aremade from a soft magnetic material, and quite dependingon the given shape, additional field-formers (shuntsand/or enhancers) can be omitted.
