The interior of a room is cleaned by supplying thereto mist-carrying air suspending therein, per cubic foot, more than 2,000,000, preferably, more than 5,000,000, and more preferably, more than 10,000,000 ultra-fine moisture particles or micro- droplets of 0.5 microns or smaller in particle size, produced by passing air through an atomizer (1) in which a great number of ultra-fine mist particles or micro-droplets are produced by injecting water at a gage pressure of 0.3-5.5 kg/cm2, preferably, of 0.5-2.5 kg/cm2 from a water injection pipe (2) with a large number of nozzles (3) of a diameter of 0.2-8 mm, preferably, of 0.5-3 mm against a side wall located at a distance of 10-150 cm from the injection nozzles (3).
