Coal-water slurry fuels are stabilized and highly concd. (about 12%) by adding surfactant 0.3-0.4 wt.% i.e. Na salt of naphthalene sulfonate formaldehyde polymer of formula (I) and electrolyte 0.1-0.2 wt.% i.e. NaOH or KOH. Where n=4-5 integer.
