Method for improving the efficiency of evaporators

In the separation of highly volatile fractions from multi-component mixtures in a thin-layer evaporator or falling-film evaporator heated indirectly from the outside, there are limits with respect to the maximum working temperature, particularly in the case of sensitive mixtures. By introducing an inert gas at the bottom into the mixture to be separated, the efficiency can be improved to such an extent that an enhanced separation performance can be achieved at the same working temperature.
