According to the invention, the measurement of deviations in setting in orientation between the reference trihedron UL, X' Y' Z' of the inertial unit of a moving body M, and an external reference trihedron UA, X0 Y0 Z0 is taken during the trajectory of this moving body and is based on the method of radio-frequency location, which, other than dispensing with high mechanical precision makes it possible to take into account all the drift phenomena which can affect the reference trihedron connected to the inertial unit of the moving body during the trajectory of the latter. The method according to the invention is furthermore usable for measuring deviations in translational setting. Application in particular to weapon systems. IMAGE
