PURPOSE:To aim at enhancing the starting ability of an engine to prevent the engine from blowing off by allowing an inflow inhibiting wall for inhibiting the inflow of liquid fuel pooled on the bottom inner surface of an intake-air pipe into a cylinder, to project from the bottom inner surface of the intake-air pipe before cranking during high temperature start. CONSTITUTION:On the bottom inner surface of an intake-air pipe 1 communicating a carburetor with a cylinder section of an engine, there is provided an inflow inhibiting wall 7 for inhibiting the inflow of liquid fuel pooled on the bottom inner surface into a cylinder 5. This inflow inhibiting wall 7 is fixed to a rotary shaft 8 which are horizontally laid in the inner bottom part of the downstream end section of the intake-air pipe 1, and therefore, the inflow inhibiting wall 7 rises and falls in the axial direction of the intake-air pipe 1 in association with the normal and reverse rotations of the rotary shaft 8 caused by the heater. When an ignition switch is turned on while the temperature of fuel in the float chamber of the carburetor exceeds a predetermined value, the inflow inhibiting wall 7 is raised up before cranking, to cut off liquid fuel.
