Polymerisates containing silyl groups, which are introduced therein by ethylenically unsaturated monomers having general formula (a), where R1 is alkyl, aryl, acyl, aralkyl with 1 to 10 atoms of carbon, R2 is an organic residue having a polymerizable double bond, X is a hydrolysable group and n is 1, 2 or 3. These polymerisates can be obtained by co-polymerization of a) 0.1 to 40 % by weight of silan monomers (a), b) 5 to 30 % by weight, preferably 8 to 25 % by weight of monomers with at least 2 polymerizable ethylenically unsaturated double bonds and c) 30 to 90 % by weight of ethylenically unsaturated monomers without groups with active hydrogen. Also described are wet-hardening coating agents based on the silyl-group containing polymerisates. Said coating agents are particularly suitable for paint in automobile repair work.
