Device for manufacturing building blocks 20 having insulating inserts 17, with a support frame which, if appropriate, is movable and supports a building-block mould 4 for manufacturing the building blocks 20, an arrangement 11 for conveying the insulating inserts 17 under the building-block mould 4 which is open in its underside and provided on its upper side with a cover plate designed with cutouts, and a filling carriage 10 for charging the building-block mould 4 with hardenable building-block material, the building-block mould 4 being adjustable into different vertical positions, the insertion arrangement 11 being displaceable under the building-block mould 4 and the filling carriage 10 being displaceable above the building-block mould 4, whereupon the building-block material can be introduced into the building-block mould 4 through the cutouts provided in the cover plate. In this connection, the building-block mould 4 is, in those regions of the inner wall at which the insulating inserts 17 are introduced, designed on one side with a groove 49 and on the other side with a guide rib 50a which projects into a channel known per se provided in the side face of the insulating insert 17.
