ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSUREAn apparatus for crimping a textile fibrous material,includes a pair of nip rolls, a stuffing box disposedadjacent to and downstream of the nip rolls, and a channeldisposed in a doctor blade of the stuffing box for thepassage therethrough of a pressurized fluid and having anoutlet opening to an end surface of the doctor bladethrough which the pressurized fluid is sent into aclearance between the peripheral surface of each roll andthe end surface. The apparatus includes a seal block orplug received loosely in a recess defined in the endsurface between the outlet and an outer end of theclearance. The plug is urged mechanically or fluidicallyagainst the peripheral surface of the roll to preventleakage of the pressurized fluid from a stuffing box in thestuffing box through the clearance to the outside air.
