CONTAMINATION-PROOF STOPPER, IN PARTICULAR SCREW CAP, FOR CELL CULTURE BOTTLES

A contamination-proof stopper, in particular a plastic screw cap for sterilised cell culture bottles (F) for cultivating and storing tissue cultures used for biological, virological, immunological and cytological analyses and diagnoses. The part (2) of the plastic stopper (1) that covers the bottle opening (F') incorporates a hydrophobic filtering element (4) made of a filtering material innocuous for the cell cultures (Z) and having a pore size or cut-off that allows a sterile gaseous exchange between the bottle content and the ambient atmosphere to take place and prevents any cellular or microbiological contamination from inside to the outside or vice-versa.
