An electric motor comprised of laminated, coaxial, annular, inner and outer stators (10,14) with an annular rotor (121 coaxially positioned between the stators and with coils wrapped about corresponding, angularly spaced apart pole pieces of the inner and outer stators to generate a magnetic flux path (34,35) which passes radially outward and inward through the rotor from the inner and outer stator pole pieces.
