Electrical cable connections for gas-pressurized telecommunication cables

Electrical cable connection for gas-pressurizable multi-wire telecommunication cables with gas-tight cable sheaths, with an essentially tubular electrically insulated sleeve preferably out of plastic. The sleeve is composed of shells which can be clamped together by closure means and which have longitudinal flanges along which the shells are sealed with respect to each other in a gas-tight manner. The casting molds for the casting bodies are partitioned off in the end portions of the sleeve by annular end walls placed on the cable sheaths, whereby the casting bodies are restricted to the end portions. The longitudinal flanges are designed as a gas-tight mechanical flange seal which is connected in a gas-tight manner to the casting bodies. The closure means includes reinforcing ledges placed on the longitudinal flanges and tightening means acting upon the ledges to press the longitudinal flanges sealingly together.
