Use of 5-methyl-6-[[(3,4-5-trimethoxyphenyl) amino] methyl]-2,4-quinazolinediamine (trimetrexate) and its pharmaceutically acceptable salts alone or in combination with an inhibitor of folic acid biosynthesis for the preparation of pharmaceutical compositions useful for treating infections of Mycobacterium avium-intracellulare complex in a patient.
