It becomes a means for the therapy or prophylaxis of hemostatic disorders which contains the tissue protein PP4, a method for the purification of PP4 by means of a hydrophobic, water-insoluble adsorbent and a method for pasteurizing a solution containing PP4 in the presence of calcium ions and at least one mono- or oligosaccharide or Sugar alcohol and optionally an amino acid and the use of PP4.
