The watch strap buckle (1) has a bar (4) across one side to which a part (2) of the strap is secured. A first opening (5) at its other side into which the other part (3) of the strap is threaded, passes over a crosspiece (6) and out of a second opening(7) under the bar (4). A cleat (8) at the end (3), too thick to pass through the first opening (5), is tacked or screwed to the first part (2) of the strap, by which it is hidden from view. The prong (9) of the buckle (1) may be eliminated if the crosspiece (6) is big enough.
