A hydropneumatic, elementary and economical transport means in the form of a floating-tank combination with a towing boat pulling at the head of the combination. By means of coupling devices, several floating tanks are coupled to the stern of the towing boat in such a way as to be movable relative to one another. The floating tanks form a longer tank combination. In this arrangement, the towing boat is designed as a planing craft which reaches speeds of about 90 km/h and to this end is provided with a wave-smoothing device at the bow. The floating tanks are designed according to the type of use for the transport of passengers or freight. The floating-tank combination as a whole is intended for overseas traffic, while the individual floating tanks can also be used within the limits of coastal and inland shipping and in a specific design can even be transported by land and can thus be taken directly to the destinations.
