The attempts to date to achieve nuclear fusion for obtaining energy are evidently based only on simulation of the nuclear fusion of hydrogen and its isotopes in the sun or the hydrogen bomb. They attempt to achieve the high kinetic energy needed to overcome the repulsion between the nuclei by the high temperatures, 108K to 109K, of a plasma. The patent claim applied for here assumes that the necessary high kinetic energy can be provided by accelerating at least one of the components of the reaction in an electrical field. This leads to the method of crossed ion jets (canal jets, H jets), and in particular the bombardment of a target made of a reaction component such as lithium present in a solid state with a jet of protons. A fusion reactor of this type operates continuously and is easy to control. In the case of the lithium reaction, it leaves no radioactive products behind, but only helium, which can be used for a further type of fusion reactor.
