Immunological reagent which can be used for the determination of the sequence of a nucleic acid and process for preparing it. This immunological reagent consists of anti-nucleic acid monoclonal antibodies which recognise the natural bases present in the nucleic acids and it is obtained from hybridomas which result from the fusion of splenocytes, or of other appropriate lymphoid cells, from mice immunised against antigens consisting of albumin derivatives bearing one, several or all the natural bases present in nucleic acids, and appropriate, preferably non-secreting, myeloma cells. Immunological method of determination of the sequence of a nucleic acid by means of this reagent and application of the said method for controlling the quality of production of vaccines or of other biological products for therapeutic or industrial uses.
