PURPOSE:To prepare cooked rice having soft texture, by putting soaked rice in a cooking vessel, cooking the rice by steaming and immersion in hot water and sealing the cooked rice in a bag or a container, wherein said rice is stirred at least once during each process. CONSTITUTION:Raw rice immersed in water is put into a water-permeable and gas-permeable cooking vessel and subjected to the steaming process to steam for 10-20min with steam and the immersion process to immerse the rice in hot water of 90-100 deg.C for 30-60sec and the cooked rice is taken out of the cooking vessel and filled in a bag or a container. The rice in the cooking vessel is stirred at least once during each process.
